Women in Enduro and Some Top Names in the Field : Enduro is a motorbike sport that involves riding in treacherous terrain. Participants have to overcome various obstacles during the race. Enduro is a bit like mountain biking except that it requires more endurance hence, the term ‘enduro.’ Racers take different tracks for various timed races called stages.

The sport is not an old one; its origins can be traced back to the early 2000s. Over the years, the field has evolved and become more popular across the globe. It grew from small races in France to the Enduro World Series, which the EMBA (Enduro Mountain Bike Association) introduced in 2013.

However, the sport was largely dominated by men. Steadily but slowly, this has changed. The reason is that many women are joining the sport and participating in competitions. Women’s endurance mountain biking is not that different from the men’s events. They use the same gear and equipment. Slight differences might be in the bikes. Enduro has bikes designed specifically for women’s racing. Some of the adjustments include short handlebars, customised saddles and short stems.

In various instances, racers buy the regular enduro bikes and have them personalised. Racers have wildly varying requirements and customising bikes guarantees that you can have what works for you. Enduro racers have to wear specialised protective gear, which comes in many forms. 24mx is one of the places to find enduro gear. Over the years, several women in the sport have built a reputation as the best in the sport. Here are a few:
