Believe it or not, some girls know nothing about stress. They live their lives to the fullest and rarely face regret. It’s not a gift. It’s a lifestyle. Many of us add stress and anxiety to our daily routines. We put ourselves in stressful situations and think this is normal. We look around and see everybody looking as stressed, exhausted, overwhelmed and miserable as we are. However, just because stress is a common thing, it doesn’t make it normal. We often numb ourselves with wrong beliefs and distractions that we don’t realize that this harms our health and reduce our lifespan. If you want to become a girl who knows nothing about stress, try to develop these positive traits.

There are times when we feel unsure of ourselves and don’t know how to overcome this feeling. Even confident people often feel this way. Maybe someone says something negative about you, or show their anger against you, or they prove their power and try to bring you down. We’ve all been there, so you’re definitely not alone. There’s always someone who respects you, loves you and hates you. That’s a harsh truth of life. Regardless of how difficult the situation you are in, you shouldn’t lose faith in yourself. You can find positive opportunities in any negative situation and turn any of your flaws into one of your best traits. Here’s how to survive the times when you’re unsure of yourself:

 

1. Don’t try to boost your self-esteem online

On the one hand, it’s a great idea to share your feelings and pictures on social media. It’s tempting to share about your struggles in order to get that support you crave. On the other hand, you can completely ruin your self-esteem since there are so many toxic people who post rude comments and belittle others. Moreover, while some may offer inspiring words, others may spread gossips. You don’t want your coworkers to know about your problems the next morning in the office, right? Instead, surround yourself with positive people or spend some time alone.

 

2. Don’t criticize yourself

Sometimes it’s useful, but not when you feel unsure of yourself. Just because your friends know 5 foreign languages and travel around the world, your sibling makes more money than you, and your coworker has 3 kids while you have none, doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. It certainly doesn’t mean that you should hide from others when you have nothing to brag about. You are unique, which means you live your own life. You do what you like to do. Yes, maybe you have no diploma, no house or no car, but you have a kind heart and you are alive. Be proud of yourself.

 

3. Stay strong

If you have trouble achieving your goals, don’t give up. You are stronger than you think. Sometimes people have to go through difficulties, failures and rejections in order to become wiser, stronger and happier. If you feel like someone is trying to prevent you from reaching a goal, stop seeing them for a while. March to your own beat and you will overcome any challenge you will face in your life.

 

4. Stop thinking ‘the worst’

Many of us tend to see downsides where others don’t. We notice flaws that others don’t. We criticize ourselves when others compliment us. Expecting the worst each day isn’t the best way to avoid feeling disappointed down the road. The sad truth is when you expect ‘the worst,’ ‘the worst’ can happen any minute. It’s a negative thinking trap that you should shy away from. Positive thinking will help you feel sure of yourself in any difficult situation.

 

5. You deserve better

If you start feeling unsure of yourself after a breakup, don’t let negative thoughts plague you no matter what your partner says. Ignore their negative words. You deserve a better partner. Maktub. This is what my Arabic friend told me when I was trying to cope with a very painful breakup. You can’t run away from your fate. If you two broke up, this means you were not meant to be together. Accept this fact, smile and continue to live your ordinary or extraordinary life. Breakup isn’t the end of the world and isn’t death. I don’t see any reasons to cry or blame yourself for not saving those relationship.

 

6. Eliminate weak words from your life

Weak words will never boost your self-esteem. Using words and phrases like, “I’m not capable of,” “I can’t,” “I’m not sure,” “I’m miserable,” or “I’ll try” will never make you sounding self-assured. Those words means nothing. You are not a weak person. You create this image in order to avoid failures, mistakes, other people’s criticism or gossips. Add more strong words in your life and you will see how others will start treating you. Instead of saying “I’ll try to accomplish this task” say “I’ll certainly do it.” You can do it. Just believe in yourself. Others will believe in you too.

 

7. Stop seeking approval from others

When you are waiting for someone to approve your choice, to help you or to do something instead of you, you diminish your self-esteem and your own opinion. You can’t please everyone. Don’t look for approval from others. If you want to do something, be sure that you will do it. If your inner voice is poisoning your soul, stop it. Tell yourself, “I’m strong and smart enough to take my own decisions and cope with any problem without anyone’s approval.” Say it, and meant it.

I hate to say it, but your unsureness makes you look miserable. Boost your self-esteem by thinking about all the good things you’ve done for people, animals and the whole world. Forget about all the bad you did. Forget about those negative gossips about you. Value yourself and your life. It’s very short, by the way. You don’t know when your day will be the last.

Many of us cannot become happy because not everyone can reach a mutual understanding with modern people. It is crucially important to achieve this point since all human beings exert a big influence on our lives.

As parts of a society, we have to communicate with people on a regular basis. Modern society is full of people with different world views, values, principles and attitudes. Surely, you will never be able to please everyone and meet their expectation.

However, if you find an individual approach to various types of people you will be able to build harmonious relations with the society and outer world. Here are few types of modern people and how to approach them.

1. Excessively reserved and emotionless people

It is difficult to understand the minds of these people, because they prefer not to show much emotion. They express genuine emotions only in stressful and extraordinary situations. Unlike emotional people, they express their attitude towards the world through their thoughts.

If you want to come to an understanding with this type of people, you should not be suspicious of them. You can earn their trust and help them open up with the help of casual talks about their favorite impressions or goals. But they will never give way to their deep-seated feelings and emotions, because it is against their nature.

 

2. Chronically negative personalities

This pessimistic world is full of people who see everything around in dark colors. They have lost their happiness and positivity due to the inability to reach harmony and peace in life.

If for one reason or another, you have or want to find a common language with a negative person, do not ignore them or build an invisible wall between you and them. On the contrary, ease their emotional pain and help them look at their, at first glance, irresolvable issues from a different angle. It is hard to absorb negative energy, but this strategy is the best approach to these people.

 

3. Moody people

Even optimists fall in a bad mood during the day. They can quickly shift their focus from negativity to something good and forget about all misfortunes. Unfortunately, moody people do not boast such a skill. Their mood changes all the time without probable cause.

In most cases, it is not a psychological disorder, but the individual peculiarity of their psyche. If you need to have a serious conversation with this type of people or ask them for something, you should go straight to the point without pleasantries, because their changeable mood can spoil everything.

 

4. Manipulators

Manipulators are everywhere. They can add drama to your life, and achieve desirable results by using emotional blackmail and psychological tricks. Never let anybody push you around, especially manipulators. They will not appreciate your acts of kindness, but on the contrary, bend you to their wishes.

 

5. Selfish people

These people are so self-centered that they are ready to do everything for the sake of comfort and attention. Almost all leaders are pathological egomaniacs who adore when others feed their narcissistic ego.

Sometimes their egomania makes them blind to the taunts and dislike of others. If your boss is an egomaniac or you want to win the sympathy of a person who has an extremely egocentric perception of reality you should use the power of compliments.

 

6. Shy and introverted

These are the people whose tempers are weak by nature. But the nature is not to blame, because the type of a child’s character and temperament is the result of bad parenting.

Oftentimes, they turn into manipulators, because in childhood their parents shouldered all responsibilities and did too much for them. When you communicate with such personalities, you should try not to be tough with them. They do not like it. Be careful, though if you do not want to fall victim to their manipulations.

 

7. Short-tempered people

There is a type of people who are under considerable nervous strain and sometimes even operate out of emotion, because they have fighting blood in their veins.

When you have to deal with them, you should be friendly and polite, even if you find them unpleasant. If your boss has an explosive temper, you should be careful and prompt, but it is important not to swallow your pride regularly, as it can have a detrimental effect on your self-esteem.

Superwoman is a fictional character; however, the name is not a misnomer for most real-life women. Women have many labels: mother, wife, business associate, caregiver, and more. A revolving list of duties lies within each category. Oftentimes, pride and desire to be all and do all prevent women from acknowledging the need for help. For the sake of health and sanity, women need to be able to swallow their pride, open their mouths, and take advantage of many helpful resources.

It’s almost impossible to lead a busy lifestyle without any help, but when you try, it can be detrimental to your emotional and physical health. You can end up overrun, because without actually asking for help you get too little of it. When you are overly busy and frazzled it negatively alters your moods. This causes high levels of stress that leads to shocking effects on the body. That is one huge reason why it’s important that you find sources of help and take a full advantage of them.

 

1. Spouse

A spouse or partner is possibly the best source of help. Married ladies, please remember: while your husbands have many wonderful qualities, mind reading is not one of them. Instead of getting steamed at him for walking past a dirty toilet without picking up a brush or by the blinking dishwasher without unloading, simply ask him to do it. Waiting for him to do something because he wants to do it is a waste of mental energy. Most likely, your spouse doesn’t mind helping out; you just need to point them towards the task.

 

2. Parents

Yes, you are independent and confident, but hiding your weakness and troubles from your parents is a real crime. If you feel like you can’t cope with your problem, ask your mom or dad for help, they will definitely help you. Even if not, it’s not the end of the world.

 

3. Friends

Another valuable option for assistance is your circle of friends and relatives. This is a good opportunity to take the load off of each other. Try scheduling days to babysit each other’s children or creating car pool shifts for school and work. Mothers, if you need a day or just a few hours to yourself, call a family friend or a sibling who might be interested in spending a fun day out with your child.

 

4. Children

Children won’t help you accomplish your project or do shopping, however, assigning some household duties to them is a way to teach them to be helpful and get more tasks off your list. Whether it’s cleaning or pet sitting, your little ones might be good helpers.

 

5. Neighbors

In addition to your spouse, parents, friends and kids, your neighbors might help you too. Just one of the many benefits of making friends with neighbors is that you can rely on each other for help. If you can’t get home in time to water the lawn or feed the dog, or if you forget to take the trash to the curb, call a neighbor and ask if they wouldn’t mind to do this little task for you.

 

6. Coworkers

You are not superhuman; you can’t do everything alone. Look for help among your coworkers. This way, you don’t show your weakness, you show your desire to work together. Today they might help you, but tomorrow you might help them. Collaboration is much better than burnout, isn’t it?

However you do it and to whomever you turn, asking for help is sometimes necessary. With occasional help, life is easier and more enjoyable than without it. You will feel less overwhelmed. Also, those who have helped you may find themselves in need from time to time, and therein is your chance to return the favor. Everyone needs help, and it all comes around.
