12 ounce tub of whipped cream cheese
Pouch of smoked salmon (found near the canned tuna at grocery stores)
1 tsp. lemon juice
Garlic salt to taste
Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl, making sure to include the oil the salmon is packed in.
Mix well with a fork.
Serve with tortilla chips, potato chips, and a variety of snack crackers.
2. Shrimp Wontons
Wontons are an attractive, unique, and especially tasty appetizer.
Small can tiny shrimp (found near the canned tuna at grocery stores)
8 ounce package cream cheese
5 green onions
2 tsp. Worschesthire sauce
Wonton wrappers (usually found with the produce at the grocery store)
Pour vegetable oil, three inches deep, into a pot. Place pot on a stove set to medium-high heat.
Drain the oil the shrimp is packaged in.
Chop the green onions into small pieces.
Place shrimp, cream cheese, green onions and Worschesthire sauce into a mixing bowl. Mix well with a fork.
Drop about a tablespoon of the mix in the middle of a wonton wrapper.
Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with just a bit of water.
Fold the wonton wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle.
Press the edges of the wonton wrapper together with a fork to form a tight seal.
Carefully lower wontons into oil.
Allow wontons to cook approximately two minutes, then gently turn over and repeat on the other side.
When they are golden-brown, remove wontons from oil and place on a plate lined with paper towels.
Leave the wontons on the plate for five minutes to cool and to allow excess oil to drain onto the paper towels.
Dab any remaining excess oil from the wontons with paper towels.
Serve wontons with hot Chinese mustard, sweet and sour sauce and cocktail sauce.
