Bad Skin Habits You Need to Quit

Many of us have some bad skin habits, which cause lots of damage to our skin. I can’t urge you to quit them, but I can give you some advices on how to do this and get beautiful and healthy skin. Here is a list of 7 bad skin habits you need to quit.

1. Not exfoliating your skin

If you want to have fresh younger skin you need to scrub off dead skin cells. Not exfoliating your skin can leave you skin looking dry and dull. Exfoliation will help you not only to keep your skin clean, but also reduce body acne. Regular exfoliating will make your skin silky soft and smooth!

2. Lack of sleep

I understand how it’s difficult sometimes to get enough sleep, but getting plenty of beauty rest will help you to keep your skin looking healthy. Sleep gives your skin a chance to restore its natural balance leaving it looking hydrated and supple. Try to go to bed at least 30 minutes earlier and you’ll see a result!

3. Using moisturizer only when your skin is dry

It doesn’t matter whether your skin is dry or not, always apply a moisturizer to your face and body. Moisturizers not only hydrate your skin, but also help repair your skin’s barrier in a way that the heat or cold doesn’t as easily irritate it. For better skin protection try to use moisturizer with sunscreen.

4. Sleeping with your make-up

Don’t forget to wash your face and remove your make-up before you go to sleep! Washing your face will minimize the look of large pores, remove dirt and oil, and dead skin cells and removing your make-up will help avoid clogging your pores or getting an allergic reaction from your eye make-up. If you want to avoid acne or an eye infection, wash your face before bedtime!

5. Not eating enough fruits and vegetables

Do you know that a certain compound found in fruits and vegetables can make your skin more beautiful? Oranges, blueberries, tomatoes, melons, broccoli, and carrots are high in vitamin C or A, which help you to get pretty glow and to build healthy skin cells. That’s why don’t forget to eat enough fruits and vegetables every day.

6. Skipping exercises

Exercises increase blood flow to the skin and give you a healthy-looking flush. It can also lower your cortisol and stress levels, which can help keep your skin beautiful. That’s why don’t skip exercises!

7. Tanning

Tanning beds may cause skin blemishes, premature skin aging, and increase a risk of skin cancer. The best way to achieve that sun-kissed glow is to invest in a self-tanner, or use a bronzer. You should remember that healthy skin is so much more attractive than getting skin cancer. This is the worst of the bad skin habits you must to quit!
